Feeling blessed

On my husband's 31st birthday this weekend... we celebrated the night away! I was also blessed to sell another one of my necklaces on his birthday! I told him that his birthday had brought me luck! I not only sold another piece of jewelry which was significant to me, but it was to someone way across the other side of the country who I have never met! I was of course UBER excited for more than one reason that night. I was feeling very blessed to not only have my husband healthy on his birthday this year, but to have sold another item in my Etsy shop!

I just thought I would share that with you today...and some of my newly discovered Etsy shops today! If you have never used the pounce button on Etsy, I highly recommend it. You can search for brand new shops waiting to make their first ever sale! Here are a few cool ones I found today------>>>>>>>.

YAY!!!!!

YAY!!!!! I just sold another item in my Etsy shop! This is my first necklace sale on Etsy! Thank you Megan, I know you will absoltely love it! For some reason it is hard to part with my jewelry after I sell it. I love that it sold... and someone else loves it too, it just feels like a piece of me is going with that item! Can anyone else relate? It is a wonderful piece with a vintage chandelier passed down to me by my late grandmother Ramona. And it sold almost to the day of her passing 12 years ago.

Sometimes I wish I could have lived in the good ol' days. Things were just a bit simpler back then. Here are a few of the wonderful things I love from the Era my grandmother grew up in:
I would love to put this vintage scale found at bellalulu's in my kitchen, don't you just love it?

I am in love with this dress from gimmeNicole! The Sexy Secretary look:)

I love me some Chamomile tea...I would love it more if I could pour it from this gorgeous teapot at Studiovintage's shop!

Delicate vintage lace at Long Valley Vintage. It reminds me of my grandma's love for all things dainty! This shade is loveley!

What a cute vintage inspired apron by pretty in the kitchen! My grandma was a sucker for roses!

Come away with me

School has been taking up so much of my time lately...ahhhh! But I am really excited to learn more about rocks and minerals in my Geology class (I know I'm a nerd) I want to incorporate more of them into my jewelry!
I was happy to finally get some jewelry done this weekend:) I only posted one new necklace in my shop today, but I plan to try and get some more posted tomorrow!

Come away with me- Vintage locket necklace
FernandDandy.etsy.com

The inspiration came from one of my favorite Norah Jones songs! Here are a few of my favorite lines from the song:

“Come away with me and we’ll kiss on a mountain top. Come away with me and I’ll never stop loving you. And I want to wake up with the rain falling on a tin roof while I'm safe there in your arms so all I ask is for you to come away with me in the night.... Come away with me."

This necklace is so great, because you can put a picture of a loved one inside the locket and bring them with you wherever you go! It's truly a romantic piece of jewelry that has stolen my heart!

I've been really into shoes lately. With all the wet weather I have been seeing some really cute rain boots around school. Here are a few that I am really obsessing about:

After looking at all the dresses, and gorgeous Jewelry worn by the glamorous elite in Tinsletown, I am in love! I am inspired to make some stunning pieces like the ones worn by those on the red carpet at the Golden Globe awards! Here are a few of my faves, let me know what you think?

And the award goes to: Courtney Cox with a jaw-dropper of a red carpet earring. According to InStyle, the stunning center stone is topaz, Amazing!

Calista Flockhart wore a beautiful pearl necklace, simply beautiful!

This girl is a bit top heavy, and this is my first encounter with her, Christina Hendrckson? She wore gorgeous dangle earrings on the red carpet! Photo courtesy of

Ok, so I'm diggin earrings right now, but i guess it's because necklaces are going out of style for the Golden globe awards?

Life is sweet!

So....I sold 2 of my 3 pair of earrings I had posted in my Etsy shop! Now my store looks pretty empty=( But I am not sad that I sold, not 1 item but, 2 items on my first day!! Thanks to Cathy, my first ever Etsy customer! I hope you enjoy your earrings!
I will be posting more items in my shop tomorrow. Things have just been so hectic lately and the lighting has been bad for pictures (go away overcast weather!!).

I just finished my first big order for a wonderful lady I met in Sierra City back at the Octoberfest, where I did my first jewelry display! She liked my jewelry and ordered a variation on one of my lariat necklaces. She wanted something special for her daughters's 21st birthday which is in January. She wanted the January birthstone (Garnet) on a white gold chain. The lariat necklace was an adjustable one so it could be changed to fit varied necklines. I presented it to her yesterday and she loved it...it was hard to part with because I loved it so much I wanted to keep it! Here are some photos I took for some of you who wanted to see how it turned out->>>

She also owns a shop in Historic Downieville called the Soiled Doves Parlour, and asked me to make some more of the same necklaces in a sterling silver, along with my other designs to put in her shop! I am excited! Take a look a her website at---->

So maybe like 3 hours after I posted my Bird earrings on Etsy, a stranger from all the way across the globe features my earrings on her blog. Not sure how to get the link for her site up.... Check out her blog at

This is what Yasmin wrote:
"If you have read my bird stories on this blog you might know that I have a soft spot for the feathered babies. It is not surprising that I fell in love with this cute pair of bird earrings from FERNandDANDY."

Yasmin has beautiful Jacket I fell in love with on etsy.com It is upcycled, which I absolutely love, and fashionably cute!
